A major section of the COHDMAP report describes the key agencies responsible for data which might be relevant to estimates of population described in terms of cultural diversity, migration and ethnic origin:

- Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)
- Department for Education and Skills (DfES)
- Regional Observatories
- Department of Work and Pensions (DWP)
- Gangmaster Licensing Authority
- Department of Health/NHS
- Home Office
- Local authorities
- Co-ordination of Local Government data
- Housing associations, Housing Corporation, registered social landlords (RSLs)
- Other local sources, including police, social services, private employers and universities.
